Note:
In some diesel engines, the difficult hot engine Start fault appears after a longer period. This is usually caused either by a weak battery, higher resistance of the power supply cable to the starter whereby there is high residual voltage in the cable and the starter thus does not have the high speed that it should have, or the starter itself is faulty. In such case the engine does not have adequate speed and the control unit fails to calculate the correct starting fuel dose. This phenomenon does not appear in cold starts because the nit enriches the fuel mixture for cold starts in the same manner applies to the choke on old engines. The recommended repair procedure is replacement of the entire faulty parts (battery, power cable, starter). A completely wrong common car repair practice is increase of the starting fuel dose by adjustment of the values in the control unit. This eliminates only the symptom of the fault but not its cause. Moreover, it is only a temporary solution, the battery/cable/starter shall deteriorate in time until complete failure.
